Substrate Preparation
Ensure substrate is structurally sound, clean, dry, free of oil, dust, efflorescence, and loose debris before application.
Water Proportioning
Measure clean potable water in precise ratio (~20–25% by weight, approx 4.5–5.0 L per 20kg bag) into a clean mixing bucket.
Mechanical Mixing
Add powder gradually into water while stirring with a slow-speed electric paddle mixer (300–400 RPM) to achieve a smooth, lump-free paste.
Slake Time (Resting)
Allow mixture to slake for 3–5 minutes undisturbed. This allows active polymers to fully dissolve and chemical adhesion to trigger.
Brief Re-Stirring
Re-mix briefly for 1 minute without adding extra water or powder. The mixture is now ready with a smooth, buttery trowel consistency.
Notched Application
Apply adhesive using flat side of trowel, then comb with notched side held at a 45° angle in one direction to create uniform ribs.
Tile Bedding & Alignment
Press tile firmly into wet adhesive with a twisting motion to collapse ribs and achieve >85% bed contact (>95% in wet/exterior spaces).
Curing & Grouting
Allow adhesive bed to cure undisturbed for 24 hours before subjecting to foot traffic or executing joint grouting with ARTICKK Grout.
Jobsite Engineering Directive
Do not add water or powder to mortar that has begun to set. Discard any expired mortar past its pot life.
